Chandrika

Chandrikas teachings draws from many styles and has a strong pull towards the Krishnamacharya lineage of Vinny yoga, which specializes in holistic individualized classes integrating breathwork and movement with its base rooted in the ancient Philosophy if Patanjalis Yoga Sutras. She incorporates restorative techniques, pranayama, meditative techniques and occasion chanting in her classes.

 

The meditative techniques that used below by Chandrika are inspired from Buddhist traditions, Kashmir Shaivism, and Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. They are simple and easy to relate to and make a world of a difference in just 10 minutes.

Body scan

12 minutes body scan practice, to reconnect to your physical self and notice all sensations without judging them as you train to focus and to be present in your life while helping to relieve tension wherever it is found. Research suggests that this mindfulness practice can help reduce stress, improve well-being, and decrease aches and pains.

Breathing

11 minutes breathing practice, that you can use several times during the day to help refresh your energy, let go of distractions, and increase focus. This paced breathing technique (4 – 4) can help to activate stress reduction mechanisms in the body by promoting a harmonious state between your respiration system and your heart.
